Collection: 2012... Origin Story...

In 2012 my rediscovered passion for art alined with my personal beliefs and values to create PAINTED SHIELDS. a unique blend of my love of painting and the power of storytelling. 

The inspiration for the name, PAINTED SHIELDS, comes from a very old tradition that I learned about in a book named Seven Arrows. In this Native American culture they would make shields out of wood and animal hide. Each shield was painted with brilliant colors and meaningful symbols. They were used for teaching and healing amongst their people.

Growing roots on the North Shore of Kauai, PAINTED SHIELDS has become part of the community

and having the courage to follow your passion. 

This collection holds in it my original PAINTED SHIELDS and captures the beginning of my journey as an artist.
